Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Inlet Technologies collects through this website and in the course of our work, why, and what you can do about it. It follows the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Who we are
Inlet Technology Corporation Limited, trading as Inlet Technologies, is a New Zealand IT services company based in Thames. In this policy "we", "us" and "Inlet" mean Inlet Technology Corporation Limited.

What we collect
- When you contact us through the enquiry form, by email or by phone: your name, company, email, phone number, the size of your business and whatever you choose to tell us in your message.
- When you become a client: the contact and billing details we need to provide and invoice our services, and records of the support we give you.
- When you visit the website: the basic technical information every web server records, such as pages viewed, browser type and IP address, used to keep the site secure and working.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for anything other than the purposes in this policy.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange an IT review or quote.
- To provide, support and invoice the services you ask us for.
- To keep our systems and this website secure, including blocking spam sent through the enquiry form.
Website analytics and cookies
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If we add visitor statistics in future, we will update this policy first, and ask for your agreement before any analytics cookies are set.
The website itself sets a session cookie that it needs in order to work, for example to keep the enquiry form secure. It is deleted when you close your browser.
The enquiry form is protected by a spam check that runs a small calculation in your browser. It does not use cookies or send your details to anyone else.
Where your information is held
We use trusted providers to run our business, and some of them store information outside New Zealand:
- This website is hosted on servers in the United States.
- Email and documents are held in Microsoft 365.
- Accounting and invoicing are handled in Xero.
- Support requests and the records of work we do are kept in Syncro, our support system.
- Remote support sessions run through TeamViewer.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to the Privacy Act.
Our clients' systems
When we look after a client's computers, Microsoft 365 or website, we may be able to see personal information held in those systems. We only access it as needed to do the work, we treat it as confidential, and the client remains responsible for that information under their own privacy obligations.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and client records for as long as we work together and then for as long as the law requires, for example seven years for financial records.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page.
